The Allan Hancock College Faculty Association, established in October of 1991, is a nonprofit mutual benefit corporation organized under the Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation Law. Its purpose is to engage in any lawful act or activity for which a corporation may be organized under such law, including but not limited to the representation of all regular contract, tenure-track and temporary certificated employees in matters pertaining to employment and professional relations.

It is the Association’s desire to help ensure a clear understanding between faculty and administration regarding fair labor practices, to promote excellent employee morale, productivity, and communication, and protect the rights of faculty members while attending to their individual concerns related to working conditions.

The Association also recognizes the importance of clarifying faculty responsibilities and upholding standards that are in the best interest of students. The Faculty Association officers, made up of five elected positions, uphold this charge, ensure that the faculty voice is heard, and negotiate contract agreements. Additionally, the officers work with administration in making decisions that affect faculty employment as well as resolving conflict without outside intervention if possible.

This website is designed to provide a means by which the officers can effectively communicate with its members and inform them of important information. If any member has a need to contact an officer for any reason, please visit the Faculty Association Officers page and feel free to contact any one at your convenience.
